Heel & Buckle – all the way from London

8 Jun

nice shot 1You are either in your bed or in your shoes, so it pays to invest in both.

If you are one of those who believes you can never have enough shoes, there’s good news. Heel & Buckle, London’s bespoke accessory store opened its first outlet in India at the luxury mall Palladium in Mumbai. I was invited for a preview and here’s what I think

nice shot 2The store on the 3rd level is very English in character. The brown, all wood interiors, soft lighting, woolen rugs, floor length mirrors and jazz music lend character to this outlet.

Heel & Buckle stocks two brands each for men and women. What I liked the most is the men’s range – very sleek, modern and sophisticated some of the pairs sport unusual combinations of jute and leather, suede and leather. Loved the double monks. There is a range of hand crafted shoes from Alessandro, Italy.

For the women there are gorgeous heels from the Singaporean brand Pazzion. Spanish brand Paco Gil shoes are more dramatic with striking sensuality and bold sophistication. For those seeking comfort there are cute flats too. The store also has a limited edition of bags and belts.

nice shot 4Dhiraj Bhatija the man who brought the brand to India has ambitious plans for Heel & Buckle. The North Country Mall, Chandigarh will soon see the second Heel & Buckle store in August. Delhi will come next around the end of the year followed by stores in the NCR Region, Chennai, Bangalore, Calcutta, Hyderabad and Pune in no particular order.

Store address:

T-24 A, Level Three, The Palladium, High Street Phoenix, 462 Senapati Bapat Marg, Mumbai -40013

Price Range: Rs 4500 – 28000
